The race to the 12-team College Football Playoff is in its home stretch, as the third set of CFP rankings was unveiled on Tuesday.
And for the third consecutive week, the Big Ten Conference not only had a drama-free rankings unveiling, but also continued to be in a strong position with four of its programs taking up a third of the field.
By staving off a potential upset on Saturday to Wisconsin on the road, Oregon kept its top overall seeding intact, with the Ducks being tabbed as the No. 1 overall seed for the third straight week.

Ohio State, Penn State and Indiana didn’t move out of their seedings from last Tuesday’s unveiling, meaning the Buckeyes, Nittany Lions and Hoosiers would all host a first-round playoff game at home if Tuesday’s rankings were the final one from the CFP selection committee.
The Hoosiers’ placement in the CFP top 25 and 12-team bracket — particularly because of their strength of schedule — continued to spark up conversation on the ESPN broadcast, despite Indiana being 10-0. Indiana can silence any questions surrounding it with a top-10 meeting vs. Ohio State in Columbus on Saturday.
Illinois joined the CFP top 25 rankings on Tuesday for the first time, coming in at No. 25.
The Big Ten is once again tied with the SEC for most teams from a single conference in the 12-team CFP bracket, at four teams apiece. The Big Ten’s five teams in the CFP top 25 rank second behind the SEC for most teams from a single conference in the top 25.
Here’s a look at the third full College Football Playoff field, including who’s in, who’s out, the full playoff bracket and the top 25 rankings.
